Some days feel slightly different. Not louder, not bigger… just quieter in a way that makes you pause.

Recently, my journey—from a small windowsill garden to building a farm life—was featured in the timesofindia.indiatimes.com

When I first saw it, I didn’t feel excitement in the usual sense. It was more like stillness. Like looking at your own life from a distance and realising how far it has quietly come. Because this was never planned as a “farming journey.”

It started with a few herbs on a windowsill. No big vision. No roadmap. Just a simple curiosity to grow my own food. Over time, that curiosity grew into something deeper—balcony gardening, experimenting with soil, composting, understanding seasons… and eventually, building an organic farm rooted in sustainable practices.

But what often doesn’t get spoken about in stories like these are the in-between years. The years where nothing feels certain. Where you’re choosing a path that doesn’t quite fit into what’s expected. Where there is no validation, no clear milestones—just a quiet inner knowing that you want to continue. There were many such phases for me. Moments of doubt. Moments of questioning. And also moments of deep connection with the soil that kept me going.

I’ve come to understand that building a life around growing your own food—whether it’s a small kitchen garden or a full farm—requires a lot of self-motivation and self-validation. You learn to trust the process before you see results.

So when something like this feature comes along, it doesn’t feel like an achievement in the usual sense. It feels like a gentle acknowledgement of all those unseen years.

I’m grateful to Mandar Deshpande (special photojournalist- Times of India) for taking the time to see value in this journey and share it. But more than anything, this moment feels like a reminder.

To keep growing.

To keep showing up.

To keep doing what feels true—even when no one is watching.

Because sometimes, the most meaningful journeys are the ones that grow quietly. And if you’re someone who has been thinking of starting—whether it’s a small balcony garden or a step towards sustainable living—maybe this is your sign.

You don’t need a farm to begin. You just need a small space, and the willingness to start.
